It,s Very Cool and blustery outside so just for fun i decided to check the temperatures across Canada, If i can belive the weather net work it is now PLUS C all the way across the country and here they are, Cornerbrook+ 9, Toronto+ 14, MANITOUWADGE+ 1, Calgary+ 13, Fort Mcmurray+ 13, YELLOWKNIFE+ 10, Vancouver+ 16. Now you see the reason for my title. Sorry if i missed out your town. But it seems wherever you are you are having it warmer than here in Manitouwadge, perhaps not for those of you in Nunavut. ( May 2nd 2.59 pm ) Photos of the main lake to-day.And a few moments after the photos were taken it was snowing heavily, but it didn,t stick

John at least you have open water around the edge of your lake Great Slave is still solid ice. But once it starts it will go fast I hope. My house is 100 feet from the lake and it gets very cold with the wind off the lake, but downtown is much nicer heat wise. I mounted the rudder yesterday on the Nautiraid 2 and will see how it goes. Cheers, John soon we will both be kayak sailing. Greg

I went down to the other end of the lake to-day and the smaller lake is almost ice free so i should be out this week, the water flowing from the larger lake into the smaller one was going at great speed, it goes through a culvert and it was PLUS 16. The blackflies will be getting rid of their winter "woolies" as will the rest of the wonderfull insect life we have here. Although on the lake it is usually insect free. I will add some of to-days photos to my file.

John haen't heard from yopu in a while and I hope that means that you are to busy paddling to type. We finally have got some open water and I am getting ready to put the windpaddle through its paces. Takes awhile to get the nackof folding it and you need to practice at first. Cheers, Greg

GREG, I just got back from 4 weeks down south and summer arrived while i was away, now some serious grass cutting has to be done and i think i have enough dandelions to start a wild flower winery, but the flowers have gone. Next week is the planned date now to launch the Triak but today there is no wind, ( up to now ) so after picking up a months mail and paying forgotten property taxes it will be ignore the black flies and start cutting the weeds, and i have a lot. I see you have been out on the lake and soon the wind paddle will be pulling you along sounds like fun.
