From Penticton; Take Carmi Rd. to 'the 201' and head for Hydraulic Lake. It’s a smallish lake, perhaps a quarter of Skaha, but is much more interesting as it sports a number of islands and is very irregularly shaped. Go and stay the night at the campground and paddle early in the morning when the sun is coming up; what a beautiful, easy to access place! You can also bring along your bikes and ride the KVR (which passes right through the campgrounds), to the first of many trestles to the north of the lake if you care to.
(Interesting message from Andrew Drouin, moved from photo comment I figured it would make a great discussion. Thank you Andrew for the tip. I am looking for a map of the lake anyone have a map link?)
Anyone out there know if this image below is Hydraulic Lake?
