Sea of cortez is famous for strong north winds in the winter. Have you ever considered a sail for your kayak. I sell Pacific Action and Windpaddle sails. Check out my site www.tundrsails.ca Cheers, Greg
Just lucky I guess the pictures are great. Baja is always nice, how was the wind in February? Sea of Cortex is a great paddle on my to do list. we are very warm here only-5 for here thats good but of course no water till May. Cheers Greg
Sheena,
Thank you for the information. I will follow up on your suggestions.
Classes I'm not so concerned about as I am currently working towards my BCU 3 Star with a shop here in Southern California. I take classes from Jenn Kleck at Aqua Adventures in San Diego. She is the only 5 Star instructor I know of and I just want you to know my skill level so recommendations are appropriate. I can roll in the surf , etc.)
I keep forgetting it's winter where you are. I use to live in Northern Wisconsin so I understand the weather and did a short stint in the Army in Ft. Lewis Washington so I kind of know the area and the weather. I notice in most of your pictures that most are wearing dry suits...Is this common practice for summer as well as other paddling seasons? Just curious as here people are still paddling in shorts!
Ok, enough with the old man banter.
Thank you again, I appreciate your help,
Billy Kroll

Thanks for the reply. I took a cruise through the inland passage and whished I had taken my kayak! lol (Hey, Feathercraft!) It was so amazing! I have read of some doing it. For Example Jennifer Huhen's "Spirited Waters"? (spll?) (The Marine Biologist?) Amazing account, well, in my estimation. And being a "bit" on the outdoorsy side saw too many places to paddle, camp... Not to mention photograph!
On my "Bucket List"is to take a trip north (I live in Los Angeles) for a nice long paddle vacation in the Washington area. Orcas Islands maybe? I read of one company that will provide you with an individual guide which I think would be amazing. Provided you get along! lol We'll see but again, great photos! Keep posting! And if you know of a place with good, reliable information for something like this please pass it along.
Still frozen here for a few months but spring is coming. Todaybis like -33 or lower and it is supposed to last all week In like a lion out like a lamb is what they say about March but here we never know until we get it. Hope that this finds all well with you. Greg
Hope you had your head down for the big propane blast, certainly livened up the news. Paddling great slave is grand and the squirt boat a challenge but much fun. Cheers Greg
