Hope you had your head down for the big propane blast, certainly livened up the news. Paddling great slave is grand and the squirt boat a challenge but much fun. Cheers Greg

Sheena Hows life in the smog. Great news the goverment claims the air in Yellowknife is getting cleaner. I'm sure they will find a way to screw hat up, now that they know about it. I'm busy selling raffle tickets and trying to learn how to handle my new squirt boat. Squirting I think will become a big art of my life as I like it so far and I'm just starting to try anything with it.

Sheena the MEC show should be good but wether i go depends on the usual excuses not to, i hate all the traffic down there, i live on the edge of town and it,s 2km to the shops and lake, and perhaps i see 3 cars on the way and on the way back, if going out of town soon the moose will be on the roads and the odd bear ambling across, these could be more dangerous as hitting one of them is not recommended. Also in June i hope to have been able to sort out the sail rig on my TRIAK and be ploughing furrows in the lake, it would nice to see another TRIAK but i think there is only one more around here , somewhere in cottage country, muskoka probably, but i don,t know where. We are now getting close to plus 10c, today it was plus 8c, buds are on the bulbs and in a couple of weeks we should have buds on the trees, and now the vehicles can be washed and waxed as for six or seven months it hardly ever gets above freezing.

Sheena spring/ summer is here and the ice will soon be gone on my local small lake here in Manitouwadge, i don,t get down to TO very often it takes me about 2 day,s Greg in manitoba has just bought a PA sail from Greg Loftus you should consider one from him, i,m sure you won,t regret it, check www.topkayaker.net there,s parts 1,2, and 3 about the sail, although the site is "sit on tops" it still applies. On the 15th may i am holding a mini kayak show in town to try and create some interest in paddling for fun and exercise, here there are a lot of canoes used for fishing and hunting and not for just recreation paddling, if i spot a kayak in town it,s rare so i chase down the owner, so far i have found two. The bears will be out soon. John

Yout probably paddling all over the bay now and we still have five feet of ice on the lake. We did get five really nice weather days and then it cooled off again. Still spring is springing and soon we will have water. Hope that this finds all well with you Greg

SHEENA i live in northern ontario at manitouwadge and a daughter lives in the beaches. Have you considered the Pacific Action sail ? i have them on my fold-ups and think they are great, there is some info on the sit on top site, easy to get to through tundrasails.Mine are on a ply mount but they are easier to fit onto hardshells, you and the club at Harbor Front will probably find them a good asset. Also they were highly praised by "sea Kayaker"
